On March 22nd 2008 at 5pm while filming for a reality show that will be airing in the United Kingdom John J2 Mryczko was involved in a car wreck. On the second day of filming J2 and director Wayne Yates from EyeWorks TV had just left J2’s house and were on the way to Old Orchard mall. As they were driving east down Golf road to the mall they approached Shermer street, where there was a car facing west on Golf road waiting to turn left onto Shermer. J2 approached the Golf and Shermer intersection, ten feet before the intersection the light turned yellow. The normal and right thing to do would be to continue across the intersection, because there is no way a vehicle can stop within 10ft when going 45mph. So that’s what J2 did he continued to drive, but at the same time the small truck making the left jumped in front of J2’s path. J2 immediately slammed on his brakes, but there was no way his car was going to stop before hitting the truck, so J2 turned the wheel to the right to avoid hitting the truck. As his vehicle turned away from the truck it was now on a head on collision with a vehicle waiting at the Shermer light. J2 turned the wheel more to the right and
avoided the head on collision, but still clipped the Pontiacs head light and fender.
If that wasn’t enough, the action did not stop there. After clipping the Pontiac J2’s car continued to turn and travel right. He was just about to pull the wheel to the left when he noticed a tree and street sign coming his way. He decided to keep the wheel turned right to avoid hitting the tree, but that sent his car up the street curb and onto a residential front lawn. Before his car came to a complete stop it slid on the snowy grass and hit the front of the house located on Shermer.
The police and fire trucks showed up minutes after the wreck. J2 and Wayne were fine and had no injuries, just shock on there faces. The man in the Pontiac was also fine. The truck suv that jumped in front of J2’s vehicle never stopped and took off from the scene. Reports were taken, J2’s car was towed to his house, and Wayne made his 7:30 flight back to London. The damage to the house and cars were minimal compared to the many things that could have happened. J2’s car is currently getting fixed with body damage done to his bumper and fenders. His bottom radiator support will also need replacing, including the transmission mount.
There are many stupid motorists out on the roads that cause accidents, and this silver suv was one of them. Let us all remember that when making a left turn at a light or intersection, NEVER jump or dart in front of a close and fast moving vehicle. No matter what color the light, green, yellow, or red always wait for the vehicle to come to a stop or pass you in the intersection before making your left turn. This kind of stupid darting in front of vehicles happens a lot in summer to motorcycle riders, and many do not walk away or survive. Have your eyes open, use common sense, and have patience!
J2 had this to say,
" I have been driving for over 4 years since my injury. On roads, streets, highways, and freeways, with thousands of miles behind me. It never surprises me to find stupid drivers on the road, this time that driver got in my face. This accident did not have to happen, I did all I could to avoid the most damage due to that drivers mistake of darting in front of me. We are lucky it was not worse. I for sure thought it was going to be a head on collision with one of those two cars. I can’t believe I made the corner. I’m sorry to the owners of the house, there home will be repaired and will look better then before. Good thing I did not create a drive threw. My car is also getting fixed and will hopefully also look better. As for the driver who cut me off. Your stupid actions did a lot of damage and could have seriously hurt someone. Learn from your mistakes, I don’t know what I could of done differently, I could of just hit you.”
